Published course feeUSD $2,570

The listed tariff is the published fee on the official course page. Twin-Shared vs Private Room Fees

Your room becomes part of your experience. It is where you rest after a full day of practice, reflect on what you have learnt and prepare for the morning ahead.

We offer two accommodation options at Abhayaranya Yoga Ashram.

FeatureTwin-shared roomPrivate room
Published price USD $2,570 USD $3,400
Sleeping arrangement Two single beds One double bed
Bathroom Shower Shower
Air conditioning Yes Yes
Hot water Yes Yes
Wi-Fi Yes Yes
Best suited to Students comfortable sharing Students who prefer their own room

The published difference is USD $830. A private room offers more personal space. A twin-shared room allows you to share your stay with another student.

Neither choice is better for everyone. Choose what helps you feel rested, comfortable and ready to learn.

For real room photographs and more details, visit our accommodation information.

What should you choose?

Choose a twin-shared room if you enjoy meeting fellow students and are comfortable sharing your space.

Choose a private room if personal space helps you recharge after a full day.

Whichever you choose, your focus remains the same: to learn, practise and grow at your own pace.

What Is Included in the Course Fee?

Your stay is designed to bring learning and daily living together. You do not have to organise every meal or arrange a separate place to practise.

The published course fee includes:

  • Residential accommodation: Your selected twin-shared or private room.
  • Three vegetarian meals daily: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Course materials: Basic stationery and learning materials.
  • Yoga equipment: A yoga mat, blocks, straps and other basic items provided by the school.
  • Structured training: Four weeks of Hatha Yoga practice, study and guided learning.

You will have time to explore asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy and yoga philosophy. You will also learn how to approach teaching with greater awareness and responsibility.

The rhythm of residential learning can be meaningful. You practise in the morning, learn through the day and carry those lessons into the quiet moments in between.

Deposit, Balance Payment and Booking Policies

Booking your course is an important step. We want you to understand the payment terms before you take it.

How much deposit do you need?

The currently published initial deposit is USD $400 at the time of booking.

The official page states that deposits are non-refundable. In special circumstances, the validity of a deposit may be extended on a case-by-case basis. An extension is not automatic.

When is the remaining balance payable?

The current page does not specify a definitive balance-payment deadline. Please ask our team for the payment schedule that applies to your intake before paying your deposit.

Confirm the following in writing:

  • The total fee for your chosen room.
  • The amount already paid as a deposit.
  • The date the remaining balance is due.
  • The accepted payment methods and any transaction charges.
  • The applicable cancellation, transfer and rescheduling terms.

Can you move to another intake?

The published policy says that enrolment may be cancelled if a student is considered unsuitable for the programme. In some cases, deferral to a future course without additional fees may be offered.

This does not mean every transfer is guaranteed. Contact the school as early as possible if your plans change. Ask for written confirmation of any approved change and its financial implications.

What Will You Experience During These Four Weeks?

Yoga is more than a sequence of movements. It is a practice of attention, discipline and self-understanding.

Our programme brings together several areas of learning.

Hatha Yoga and Asana Practice

Explore traditional Hatha Yoga postures, alignment, Sun Salutations, inversions and restorative poses. Learn about Sanskrit names, the benefits of asanas and situations in which certain postures may not be suitable.

Pranayama and Breath Awareness

Learn structured breathing practices and understand how to approach them in your own practice and future teaching.

Yoga Anatomy and Physiology

Study the musculoskeletal, respiratory and nervous systems. Build a better understanding of safe movement, alignment and adapting practices to individual needs.

Yoga Philosophy

Explore yoga’s historical roots, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and key ideas from the Bhagavad Gita. Consider how these teachings relate to daily life and responsible teaching.

Meditation and Mantra

Develop concentration through guided meditation practices. Explore mantra, stillness and methods for turning your attention inward.

Learning to Teach

Your training also involves written and practical evaluation. The published course requirements specify 90% attendance for course evaluation.

Each area supports a deeper understanding of yoga. The aim is not simply to remember what you learn. It is to understand it well enough to practise and share it responsibly.

A Day in the Life at Abhayaranya Yoga Ashram

Life during residential training follows a structured rhythm. Your daily schedule may change at the discretion of your teachers.

The days ask for discipline, but they also offer a chance to slow down.

You may arrive focused on improving your practice. Along the way, you may discover that listening carefully, resting when needed and approaching each day with patience matter just as much.

Certification After Your Training

Successful completion of the programme makes you eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 500, subject to the applicable requirements.

Students can also enquire about the optional HNBGU university certificate, which the official course page identifies as a yoga certificate recognised by the Government of India. This certificate carries an additional cost.

Certification requirements and registration are not identical to course attendance alone. Ask our team about the applicable assessment and registration steps before enrolling.

Planning Your Travel to Rishikesh

A little preparation can help you arrive feeling settled.

Before travelling, make sure you have:

  • A confirmed intake and booking.
  • Written confirmation of your selected room and total fee.
  • Your deposit receipt and balance-payment details.
  • Appropriate travel documents and visa arrangements.
  • Travel insurance suitable for your plans.
  • Confirmed arrival arrangements.
  • Any personal items you need for a comfortable stay.

Please confirm airport transfers directly with the school rather than assuming they are part of the course fee.

Give yourself enough time to reach the ashram and settle into your accommodation before training begins. Arriving prepared can make the first day feel less rushed.
